Robyn “Pocahontas” Crowe is a powerhouse advocate, cultural mother, and unshakable force in the fight for Black trans liberation in the South. As co-founder and House Mother of the House of Rebirth in Dallas, Robyn has dedicated over a decade to uplifting Black transgender women through housing, healing, and unapologetic community leadership. Her work bridges survival and joy—organizing everything from legislative teach-ins to talent showcases, family field days, and ballroom mentorship. Her mission is deeply personal. After the sudden loss of her sister, Robyn became the full-time guardian of her sister’s children, stepping boldly into a new role as a single mother while continuing her advocacy. Her resilience is unmatched: transforming grief into grace, and hardship into healing for others. Robyn’s leadership is rooted in love, visibility, and showing up where systems have failed. She has earned the trust of her community not only by speaking out—but by creating real, tangible solutions: shelter, safety, and space. Through the House of Rebirth, she has provided wraparound services to over 180 trans people of color annually, with a vision to expand her model across the South. As a Black transgender woman living in the Bible Belt, Robyn confronts daily barriers with fierce grace. Her story is one of chosen family, radical truth-telling, and boundless care. With her upcoming move to Little Rock, Arkansas, Robyn is bringing her legacy of service and sisterhood to a region that desperately needs both—and she’s not asking for permission. Whether standing on protest frontlines, caring for her kids, or walking the ballroom floor, Robyn moves with purpose. She is, and always will be, MUVAH POCAH—a living embodiment of what it means to lead, to nurture, and to rise.
